Design for Excellence (DfX)

Our success is underpinned by our synergy-based approach: in everything we do, we want to create added value. Before we start with the development for a project, our design, testing and production departments sit together to examine how your product can be made and tested as efficiently as possible. To do this, we take all facets of DfX (Design for Excellence) into account; including DfM (Design for Manufacturing), DfA (Design for Assembly), and DfT (Design for Test).

DfX-stages

With Design for Excellence (DfX), our engineering activities engineering activities take place in parallel. In this way, we optimise the productivity and product quality of our electronic controller solutions.

Design for Manufacturing (DfM)

The Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principle means we look at how we can develop and produce our electronics designs as efficiently as possible. Therefore we sit down with our customers early on in the development phase. We can then use our experience and expertise to develop the best possible electronic design. This reflects in our approach as we for example always tailor our hardware to the customer’s wishes, specifications and any documents supplied by them. We eliminate production problems at this early stage, which leads to lower production costs and a shorter time-to-market.

Design for Assembly (DfA)

When we take Design for Assembly (DfA) into account, we look at how we can assemble our products as efficiently as possible. We look at the manufacturability of our electronics early in the development phase. This way, we ensure an efficient and reliable (automatic) assembly of your electronic controllers.

Design for Test

When it comes to the principle of Design for Test (DfT), we look at how to test our products as efficiently as possible. We look at the testability and accessibility of the electronic design, again early in the development phase. We test our hardware and software with automatic inspections, including in our own test farm. This method enables automatic testing of the electronics during the production process, which reduces costs and guarantees excellent quality.
